PONYVILLE IS 2 YEARS OLD!
2 years ago, I posted the first strip. The Mayor was mayor, and I was begging for comments, so little has changed. Except the ponies looked like this

Thanks for reading and enjoying to those who have and do. I truly enjoy making Ponyville for you all.

Here's today's strip, the first of the New Year. :) That promised storyline? It's coming, yo.

*As always, comments greatly appreciated and desired.

The slippery way the years have been passing, 2 years seems like both a long and short period of time.

Thanks, Frie!

Happy Ponyversary!

Jack's trainer talk is so very very trainery. (It is TOO a word!)

The shading looks a little crazy on my Mac, but it could be the magic of the superbright screen. I can definitely see that it's a change in style; I wish I could check it out on a PC too to get a better perspective!

Actually, that's intentional. I figured a sunrise is a destint source of light, and tried to portray it through shading. (If it doesn't look good on a Mac, it doesn't look good, I'm afraid).

No, it's not bad, just dramatic. Kind of "The Emperor's New Groove", and I'm more of a "Beauty and the Beast" fan. (Hopefully that makes sense.)

I think the collective ears rival Sparkleworks hair in terms of rate of growth.

Lmao! I love it. Keep it coming Spoosh, and congrats for sticking with it so long. I maybe a very quiet fan of POnyville but it always cheers me up when things aren't going so well. Thanks for all the hard work. Though I do fear for Dash...I don't think that's going to go down to well. I love the look on his face too.

Happy birthday Ponyville! It's amazing to see how far you've progressed, how much sleeker your style is now as compared to when you first began.

...Is it a coincidence that from the side, Jack's whistle looks like a skull?

I also noticed the skull-whistle. Perhaps it is a grim portent of exercise to come.

"The first strip looks scary compared to today, lol."

I have such an urge to redo those first few strips. BUT I MUST RESIST. That I don't have time for, and the past should be left unprovoked, like a hive of bees.

Besides, I have a commission to do! ;)

I almost hate tot hink what Dash could do if he set a goal into motion. (Oh wait, he went after the fat pretty determined, didn't he. He has it in him afterall. LITERALLY, A-HAR-HARhuh..)

Oh, Dash. AJ's expression in the last panel is wonderful. :D

Happy Birthday, Ponyville! Comparing current Ponyville artwork to the first few strips is like coming across one of those very early Simpsons clips from the Tracy Ullman show.

And is it just me, or did the lighting get a bit more dramatic with this strip? Is it because they're out in the early morning sun?

Haha! Or? That "early" drawing of Krusty the Clown in the 138th Episode Spectacular.

Bwee!! Happy anniversary, Ponyville! Man, it's been two years? I'm amazed at how far your art has progressed. And I LOL'ed at how the early strips didn't have word balloons. That struck me as hilarious, for some reason.

I love this strip! Dash's grin in the last panel is priceless. I'm also impressed with the way the track disappears into morning fog in panel 3. That's beyond awesome.

And for some reason, in panel 3, Jack looks like you. o_O I think it's the grin.

Great strip!

My strip was so bankrupt of skill that I couldn't AFFORD word balloons. Nothing fancy like that for me.

"I'm also impressed with the way the track disappears into morning fog in panel 3. That's beyond awesome."

:D Thank you! I pulled out pictures of the my Grissom track back home for several summers back as a reference, and noticed the fog and was all "wait a minute.. That is easy to do, it's appropriate for the lighting, AND it looks nicer! DONE!"

"And for some reason, in panel 3, Jack looks like you. o_O I think it's the grin."

Or maybe it's the headstrong insistance on New Years Goals. :P

Jack you sexy fiend, you're back! lol.

I love how Dash is still amazingly fat. You'd think he'd at least make a little progress. :) I mean, all he has to do is look at the thin, manly Minty, Inspiration? You'd think so. Unfortunately, Dash's slacker tendencies reign supreme. :)

I like the simplicity of this strip. It's effective because the joke takes a little more reading and little more comprehension to get at the end. This is good, I like that they aren't all one-liners. A little complexity now and then in the written part of the strip is good. :D

The backgrounds are always so clean and well done. They compliment the strip so well. Bravo.

The shadows and hihglights in the strip seem more effective then usual. I'm not sure if you've done something different, or if its just the way the strip is set up. Either way, well done, it helps create depth in the otherwise flat, 2-D plane.

Oh, and I love Dash's expression in the last panel...he's looking a little Ki'ono. :D

Sorry I haven't replied to the last few strips, I was very busy over the holidays and the beginning of the school year. :)

I did do something different with the lighting, since I wanted to portray the sunrise time of day. It's EARLY, and Jack's ready to go. :P

That would be one starving alien if so.

I'm sure the kitten was rescued, and likely appeared in several follow-up pieces.
