Comic #57 - 57:03

*Comments greatly appreciated! Instead of 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, we shall sing of comments. That's what they sing about in Irish pubs, I'm told.

(I haven't yet - but will - reply to your Halloween comments. :))

I've been posting strips more frequently lately as I try new things with artwork and such. (And maybe as a feeble attempt to make up for past droughts). We'll go back to the once-per-week Monday/Tuesday schedule soon! The strip will still mostly be 4 panels.

Curse you, this made me laugh despite a migraine, and the laughing hurt. It was worth it though. I like Minty in this one, the lines are graceful.

The plant is almost a third roommate.

Oh Dash. People like Fat Dash, and that's not supportive of his weightloss plan, lol.

Aw, did poor Dash eat so much Halloween candy that he can't even move off the couch to change out of his costume? Although it suits him so well, I don't blame him for leaving it on.

Some people just can't let go, man. :D
You wanna talk professional looking artwork? This is better than the crap Hasbro poops out. I love fat-Dash, heheh. *smooshes*
And he looks EXTRA fat right here! He could go on in this costume to torment Hamburger joints incognito!

Their pot plant is thriving, though..... heheheh

"You wanna talk professional looking artwork? This is better than the crap Hasbro poops out."

:D Aw, thank you, Eed. I really focused on the artwork for this one, to compensate for the one-panel-ness (much like Dash is clearly overcompensating too). So that compliment is extra fulfilling today.

Dash has become Sumo-like in his fat, in that his popularity needs the fat and the fat needs his popularity.

I wonder if he's comensating - notice the lack of donuts in the apartment. Either they've all finally rotted away, or he's trying to stick toJack's diet. If that's the case, look for Hamburgler Dash for weeks to come, LOL.

Thanks for commenting! :)

Okay, so little is said, yet so very MUCH is communicated... this is one of the better Ponyville strips. The implication of the co-option of the Hamburgler's very identity, of one, "becoming the dream" is remeniscent of Zorro's apprentice taking on the mask. And yet at the same time, here is a real expression of hoplessness; our weight-embattled friend is begining to feel apathetic towards his fate. Once again, Ponyville delivers in spades.

The artwork just keeps getting better, incidentially; The faded contours, the LOVELY color decisions, I mean wow. I don't see a hair out of place.

Wow, THANK YOU! :D Since this was a one-panel, I was really looking to make some visual strides, including a bolder color palette and shading. I'm stoked you noticed and like it. :)

"Okay, so little is said, yet so very MUCH is communicated... this is one of the better Ponyville strips. "

Again, thank you. I loved reading her inferences here; that's one reason I really like the one-panels - there is so much that is and can be inferred.

LOL! I did that once when I was little. I had this cloak that was fabulously silky, and I protested when my mom tried to pack it away after Halloween. I ended up wearing it under my clothes at school for about a week. Once my teacher commented on how bulky I looked, though, I finally had to stop.

After that I just slept in it. >.>

It looks like you spent a lot of time on Dash's cape! Nice shading, there. There's also a nice flow to Minty's stance. And how much bigger will their crop get?!

HAHA! Oh, that is awesome. ::laughing::

Neither Dash nor Minty have what you'd call a green thumb. (Despite Minty being green). This goes for pruning as well. Personally I think they lucked into what they've got, and like a too-proud parent, they aren't enforcing limits.

And thanks about the compliments! This was the first I'd tried working with near-black items, like Dash's cape. I've tended to stear away from them to keep the pastel atmosphere of past strips.

The art and the "story" this panel tells are indeed great. And Dash as Hamburgler is brilliant...my first thought was that he had kept the costume on in order to continue frenzied hamburger consumption. He certainly looks like he's been binging! :D

Hey, thank you! :) I really like how the one-panels can show pivots in plots, because they give you all the information in one punch. It's nice to read that you like that too.

Some things just fit together. Dash-as-Hamburgler is one of those things.

It's always nice reading that someone sees themselves in one of my comics. Even if the comic in question is one where a charactrer is stubbornly dressed as The Hamburgler. ;)

It's from a picture I took of the instrustions at an eyewash station. Apparently, if you spilled something caustic in your eye, you were to fill up a special eyewash bottle and goosh it in your eye, like so. I just loved how calm the guy looks, and how the eyewash looks like a milkshake.

It seems that plant is a hit with just about everybody, including me. I love how it's growing everywhere. Is there going to be a little forest soon?

I'm also impressed that if you look closely enough you can see the detail of Dash's cloak in the foalds oat the bottom. Good job Spoosh, I think this is one of your best artwork detailed strips yet.
