This is a one-panel. (Which is to say that the strip isn't only partially loading ;)).




News: Ponyville moves back to Mondays for the Fall Lineup! The donator-exclusive strip will come next, but will be posted on whatever day it's complete. I am also going to be experimenting with schedule restrictions and work speeds in order to fit Ponyville into a reliable schedule that coincides with my own real-life schedule. With any luck, you won't notice any degredation in quality. :)

Never make a comment to a woman suggesting that she might be pregnant unless you can actually see a baby emerging from her. oO

I feel bad for laughing at your icon, but I do.

I believe Minty is both laughing and drunk. The two are mutually inclusive.

I agree. :) It kind of highlights what you already know about all of them, and somehow makes them more familiar. At least that's what I've decided when seeing that happen on TV and such.

LOL! Honestly, that's what I'd assume too, that someone's just gained weight. We live in a fast food nation. It seems more likely that someone's had too many cheeseburgers than it would be that they are incubating a fetus.

Wow, that's an impressive belly!

In Toola's defense, perhaps she caught one of the Hasbro-produced G3 cartoons and is now having a massive case of gender confusion when it comes to her fellow ponies. ;)

And OMG! I just noticed the cityscape in the background! That's a very nice touch, although it could maybe stand out more.

Thanks, Dava! I was pretty pleased with that TR, I must admit.

I didn't try anything new with inking; not intentionally, anyway. I see what you mean though. I think I inked TR a bit too large before scanning.

One of these days I'll need to set a strip within the city, not just inside one of its buildings. (I thought of making the Mayor's office visible in the cityscape, and then considered it could take upwards of an hour of trial and error, and then resided to not).

Lol. One of my first impressions of the strip was 'where are they?' it took me a while to see that they were in fact in a secret corner of Ponyville reserved for the drinkers! I love Minty's dazed expression in the backround, he looks so out of it. And Dash just looks distrubed. lol. One of the things that I think work best for this strip is Toola's body language. Her stretched postion really brings your eye across the panel, fixing it on the point of the verbal joke, Dash. Her body is just positioned really well. It really gets the point across, in more ways then one. ;) What I think is a little awkward is the pastel-ish look to the backround. Yes, it makes the main characters in the strip stand out more (aka Dash and Toola) but, in my humble opinion, I think it makes the characters stand out a little too much. A kind of cut and paste effect. If that's what you were going for, then great. ^_^ I guess I just think that the background coudl've been a tad darker so that the contrast between the two were more blended, *cringes and hopes that she didn't come off as harsh, because she totally loves Spoosh's comic, characters and effort into putting up this strip*

Thanks for commenting with the art in mind! I love reading comments about the artowrk itself. I was pretty pleased with that TR pic, and intended it to do exactly as you said it does. So w00t!

I know what you mean, too, about the "paste" effect, of having the boldest lines be from the characters. When I print these strips out, they seem to look that way to me, with the backgrounds being lighter in print than when I create them on the screen. However, printing is the only time this happens for me - on other people's computers they look alright. I have wondered, though, if they look to some people like they do in my printings. I know MACs sometimes make them look that way too!

:D THANKS! I'm really pleased that you like this one so much! The one-panels are always a bit of a risk for me, since it's 1/4th of the artwork. It's gotta be a strong joke, and apparantly it was! :)

Oh Toola... ::shakes head:: Dash's expression here is great.

After commenting on Amberlock's tail in comic 50...I noticed something in this one: Toola-Roola's hair has vastly improved compared to when we first saw her in comic 46. Some of it is subtle, like the larger size of her curls at the ends of her mane (which look more realistic than the teeny-tiny ones she was sporting back then). The most significant difference however is her tail. I LOVE the new tail. I could go on and on about all the things that I like better about it, but I know you can see what I'm talking about. ^_~

Oh what the heck...I'll summarize: the hair is allowed to look longer and healthier in this style; the curls are more luscious; the shapes and proportions are more in line with the rest of your art (as well as Toola herself); and it is more reasonable to curl the ends of the tail than it is to have the curls start right at her butt. In fact, I feel so strongly about this topic, I shall post a pic for emphasis!

(Also the old one reminded me of a kidney or something...LOL!!) XD
