My apologies for the delay in this week's strip. I tried to kick life out of the way, but that never works. Belligerence!



*as always, I'm coo-coo for comments.

I'm fond of the window background (which is probably less visible on bright Mac monitors); I wanted to give Sweetberry a nice office space after boring Comic #8.

He is. He truly is. And I love him for it.

Someone else suggested the Powerpuff Girls reference a few months back, and Duckie once even draw Mayor Pie in the likeness of the PPG Mayor. I've only seen that show once or twice, many years ago, so it wasn't intentional!

Dash's face in that last panel looks a lot like one of the faces you made in your photos for the hunt w/ the statue. LOL I can just invision you screwing your face around as you draw their expressions.

I do make the facial expressions when I'm drawing, but only inadvertantly. This is why doodling for Ponyville during class isn't always a good idea. ;)

I'm mightily impressed with the newspaper! You managed to give it some nice creases and folds. ^_^ Oh, and I adore Minty's ears in the last panel!

I've been wondering--what is that on Sweetberry's head? *embarassed*

I adore Sweetberry's expression in the third panel. In the fourth, I'm surprised she's not scrambling out the door while shouting a quick "Screw this! You're hired!" over her shoulder to Minty. ^_^ Such a dedicated secretary.

:D Thank you! That's my favorite Sweetberry drawing to date. I am really pleased with Minty in Panel 1 too. But the drawings get a bit swallowed, I think. I recropped and resized in several different ways, but this was the layout that worked best for the overall joke (which I am thinking was perhaps a mistake to emphasize, since the monkey totally overshadowed all, LOL! How do monkeys always end up doing that!? ;))

You'd better run, Minty, before Sweetberry decides she does need an assistant. She's giving you the "Are you crazy?" eye in panel #3, but she might change her mind.

I love the view! ^_^ I also love how Sweetberry has NOTHING on her desk since all she does is keep the Mayor from swallowing pennies.

I imagine Sweetberry trying to control and train an assistant, but come to the conclusion she'd end up doing everything herself. Unless she snags Wysteria. Or, in a frightening twist, Lemon Squash.

THANK YOU! I am so glad you noticed that, because it was totally intentional. For a moment, I mused about several different items to put in her office space, but realized that only a newspaper described her job most accurately.

I am glad to know! I wonder if the Macs on campus just have their monitors set differently. I looked at this strip in the computer lab today to check for myself, and sure enough the buildings were washed out and uindecipherable, but when I'd tilt the monitos, I could make them out. Maybe I'm just sitting at the computer incorrectly too, lol!

I like the way the words distort when the newspaper crumples, as if they might read something else in the second panel.

Maybe I'm just being pony-geeky, but Sweetberry's chair reminds me of the purple desk chair from G1 Paradise Estate. It made me very happy.

Oh, and I'm a Mac user with my brightness up to full and I can still see through the window. Nice view! It looks like a cartoon-ized version of Boulder, CO.

It comes from an old "Medic-Alert" commercial, in which an old woman falls and cannot get up, thus being chided that she should have bought a Medic Alert, as she could then alert propper medical staff to come collect her.

It's much more funny when you hear it than when described in text.

Anyway, it sorta became a running joke in several popular shows, I think.

So to answer your question: I don't know.
